About Me
MY COACHING STORY
Experienced. Qualified. Supportive.
I began my career in the health industry over 17 years ago and have a wide range of Coaching experience in Athletics, Strength & Conditioning, and general Fitness coaching. I work with all levels of runners from those just starting their fitness journey to those aiming for performance. All of them are women and many of them have struggled to remain active or competitive during the menopause years. This led me to in-depth training in this area to help understand the impact of menopause on physical activity and the changes we need to make to work with our new physiology.
I work with clients on a 1:1 basis, in groups, and am involved in menopause education both within the community and within clubs and sports governing bodies as well as part of multi-disciplinary healthcare teams.
What I Do
I specialise in getting results for menopausal women with their running, training, and nutrition during the menopausal years and beyond. Our body has changed so we may now need to change how we exercise and eat to get back to feeling like ourselves again. I do this through How to Train in Midlife workshops and Webinars, my Running Coaching Programme or 1:1 consultations.
My work is based on research and facts, not fluff. I will get you back to feeling like the runner you used to be with practical solutions that can be easily implemented to help you thrive not just survive menopause.
Whether you are just starting on your running journey, or have performance goals it is possible to make changes so that the rest of your life can be the best of your life. We work together to make small changes to help you create long-term sustainable fitness and health habits that will serve you for life.
Alongside this, I work as an educator for sports coaches and athletes through clubs, groups, national sports governing bodies, and local sports partnerships.
One of my projects was through Athletics Ireland / Sport Ireland and Women in Sport where I rolled out a Pilot Program on the Impact of Menopause on active women. This was an 8-week habits-based coaching programme where we established the reasons behind the 30% dropout rate in Sports, defined the barriers, and worked towards practical solutions through specific exercise and nutrition changes to work with our new physiology. This was the first Program for Midlife women in any sports NGB in Ireland. It is now being rolled out across the country through many governing bodies and local sports partnerships as well as in the workplace.
Whether you participate in all sports or none knowing what to do as you age is vital in making the rest of your life the best of your life.
All workshops and webinars are tailored and pitched to YOUR group and YOUR needs and wants. If you would like to have a chat about how this would work in your club, community, or organisation please drop me a message.
